Roineabhal Cottage can accommodate up to two couples in two double bedrooms. 

Set in a peaceful and quiet location this typical Hebridean crofters cottage enjoys a South facing aspect so enjoys the sun all day, just perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in front of the AGA log burner or in  the garden. The evening sunsets can be breathtaking a kalidescope of colour to challenge artists and photographers alike.

Situated on the beautiful Island of Scalpay (Harris) in Scotland's Western Isles Roineabhal enjoys magnificent sea views towards Skye and North Uist The mountains of Harris and An Clisham ( Highest mountain on the Isle of Harris) can also be seen from the cottage.

Roineabhal Cottage is an ideal base for walking, golf and fishing and only 25 minutes from the white sandy beaches on the West coast. The main town of Tarbert (15 minutes) has Craft shops, Harris Tweed & Knitwear. Hotels, Tea room and local grocers, Bank and Petrol station, it also has a Leisure Centre situated in the new school in Tarbert with swimming pool and gymnasium.

Scalpay is connected to its larger neighbour Harris via a single track bridge. It is an Island with lots to offer. Wildlife is abundant Sea Otters can be seen playing in the bays and seals are common. Watch out for dolphins following the ferry as you cross to Harris. Sea Eagles can also be seen if you keep a lookout! If you want to see the Golden Eagles there is an arranged "Eagle Walk" which has a 100% success rate in spotting these beautiful birds. For people who like boat trips Sea Trek offer wonderful trips to St Kilda, the Shaint Islands and the Flannen Islands. Sea Trek is situated in Tarbert and booking is reccommended.

2015 saw the opening of the first Whisky distillery on Harris . "An Hearach" should be a welcome place for visitors to the Island. It has a lovely Cafe, and Gift Shop. Guided tours are a must for visitors. Slainte!

From the cottage there is a wonderful newly completed and easy pathway out to Eilean Glas Lighthouse (30mins) walk and one of the Islands highlights!

The Scalpay Village Shop provides Co-Op style shopping and has a Cafe/ Bistro doing cream teas and evening meals. The Bistro is gathering a fantastic reputation throughout Harris and Lewis for the wonderful Curry's on offer. People come from far and wide and booking is reccommended.

There is also Scalpay crafts village with local hand made crafts of all type available including Harris Tweed and Linen on sale.
